The Doctor Looking for a Job in Florida

The physician looking for an opportunity in Florida has a great deal of flexibility.  Physician jobs in Florida can meet both goals of a financial and lifestyle nature.  Florida can offer many different physician opportunities with compensation and benefits to match. Once you have outlined your goals as a doctor, we can help you find the job that best fits your needs.

Florida is a large state with many physician opportunities in both urban and rural areas.  The amenities offered by Florida vary with regards to location.  We are native Floridians and are very familiar with the entire State of Florida and can help direct you to areas that will fulfill your needs as a physician as well as your recreational or cultural needs.

We have contracts with over 250 hospitals and practices in the State of Florida.  Even if these hospitals or practices do not currently have an opportunity advertised, they often have quiet searches in place for quality candidates.  Once we have determined what type of practice you are interested in, we will work to find the right position for you.

Licensing for a physician in Florida is a somewhat time consuming process.  You need 4-6 months to complete the licensing process.  A step- by-step outline is listed by the A.M.A.  Click on Licensing in Florida for the outline and links to contacts and necessary forms.  You can also contact the Florida Board of Medicine, 2020 Capitol Circle, SE, Bin#C03, Tallahassee, FL 32399-3253, telephone (850) 488-3622 Florida Board of Osteopathic Medicine, 2020 Capitol Circle, SE, Bin#6, Tallahassee, FL 32399-3256, telephone (850) 488-0595.

Malpractice in Florida is currently, unfortunately, an issue.  The financial and lifestyle rewards of this State often offsets this inconvenience.  As malpractice reform is winding its way through the legislature, we hope that this issue will be resolved in the near future.  President Bush's younger brother, Jeb Bush, is our Governor so you know his finger is on the pulse of this issue. In the meantime, weighing other factors such as the lack of state income tax, lower cost of living, amenities, climate and the specific opportunity particulars (compensation, call, vacation just to name a few) should all be factored into your decision.
